Allison Conte

As a strategic partner, leadership advisor, and organization development consultant, Allison specializes in generating transformative, sustainable change in complex systems. She works with leaders to solve “wicked” problems, generate breakthrough strategies, and increase agility in individuals, teams, and organizations. Her whole-systems organizational transformation work integrates strategy, top-team alignment, organizational design, governance, culture change, leadership development, and executive coaching.

For 20 years, Allison has worked with organizations of all sizes across a variety of industries, including energy, financial services, health care, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, publishing, and higher education. Her expertise includes applications of integral theory, Gestalt, Polarity Management, Appreciative Inquiry, systems thinking, complexity science, emotional/social intelligence, spiritual intelligence, developmental psychology, and Holacracy. She is one of only a handful of consultants in the world to complete (in 2012) a mastery program in Polarity Management.

Allison teaches on the faculty of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and has served as a master executive coach for Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management Executive Education program. In addition to her work with Hawthorne Consultants, she occasionally collaborates with Mobius Executive Leadership (Boston), Third River Partners (Pittsburgh), and Alchemy Consulting (Denver). She also serves on the faculty of Aletheia: Integral Relating Intensive.

In recent work, Allison has facilitated top-team development at a multinational pharmaceutical company, supported a merger between two large public agencies in New York City, designed and delivered “integral” leadership development programs for corporations and governments, and conducted a whole-system organizational transformation project for an international nonprofit.

Allison’s clients have included, among others, Alcatel/Lucent, Americhem, BP, Cleveland Clinic, Cuyahoga Community College, Fifth Third Bank, Greater Cleveland Partnership, GOJO, Hospice Compassus, National Association of Manufacturers, Netherlands Bureau of Statistics, Rocky Mountain Institute, Sherwin Williams, Stagen Leadership Institute, and University of Denver.

Earlier in her career, Allison worked as a corporate communications consultant and managing editor for several business magazines. She has published dozens of articles on leadership, organizational change, sustainability, and corporate responsibility, as well as a book about knowledge management.
